oh boy

Oh these boys. How they keep me on my toes.
These boys fill my heart with joy and sometimes, just sometimes make me want to pull out all my hair and flee to Mexico. They are a blessing to us and I am lucky to call them mine.

Gavin is four now and could possibly be going on 14? The independence is what I struggle with on a daily basis. He doesn't need mama as much anymore and that's a little difficult to grasp. At times I am so amazed by the knowledge that his little brain holds, and I'm also so terrified. Soon he's not going to want to hold my hand and give me kisses goodnight. He loves his grandparents and even sometimes, yes, his little brother. Of course mom and dad are cool, but no where near the awesomeness that John Deere tractors seem to be. Yes, still kicking the infatuation with tractors, trains, trucks and construction. He wishes horses could live in our backyard with Maddy and can't fathom going to bed without the ten stuffed animal horses that I now know by name. We got real lucky with this little one.

And Jude... Jude's almost two and wants to be just like his big brother. There isn't a day that he doesn't follow Gavin into the bathroom to watch him go pee (too much info?), or try to push those tractors around as fast as his big bro. I am very grateful that I have two boys that are pretty close in age and can grow up to be best buddies-- or I hope? Jude is our silent but deadly little one. If you don't hear him babbling or squealing you better go look for him. At any given time he can be destroying everything in sight or emptying every drawer/cubby/laundry basket. But he is our little cuddle buddy, and has no problem lounging around all day long.... that is if we're watching John Deere movies or Thomas the Train.
